KINDZMARAULI

Semi Sweet Red

Type: Semi Sweet Red Wine

Country of Origin: Georgia

Supplier: Vazisubani Estate

Brand Name: Georgian Sun

Description:  Kindzmarauli is semi-sweet red wine aged for two years. It is produced 100% from Saperavi grapes grown at the base of the Caucasian mountains in the Alazani Valley Kakheti Eastern Georgia. Kindzmarauli is semi sweet but not too sweet because it is made from a tannin and complex grape varietal Saperavi. The characteristics of the Saperavi grape lend balance to the sugar resulting in a well-structured wine great for pairings. The regional wine-making is almost universal and is based on the ancient method. It’s a slow fermentation at a low temperature that ends without all of the sugar being fermented.

Grape Variety: Saperavi grape variety is one of the oldest cultivars from the Kakheti region, and has consistently been the most important in Georgia’s commercial wine-making industry. Saperavi is one of the best representatives in the world red wine assortments. Particularly, the high-quality table red wine produced from Saperavi. Deep in fruit character, yet brisk with acidity, this gutsy grape presents a unique alternative to everyday reds. Saperavi reflects a deep, inky and often fully opaque color. It is one of the few teinturier—red skin and red flesh—grape varieties in the world. This varietal has aromas and flavors of dark berries, licorice, grilled meat, tobacco, chocolate and spices.

Vintage: 2016

Taste: The color of wine is the amazing combination of dark ruby with violet tones. Blackberry and ripe cherry saturate the flavor and adds the peculiarity of the pepper tone. The intense variegated taste, velvet tanned complex and the body’s integrity and harmony eventually covers its original look and nature. Well balanced with acidity gives it unique elegance.

Best to enjoy at 14 – 15°C.
